Idaho Real Estate License

Having An Idaho Real Estate License

Wanting to become a real estate sales person has been a goal of mine for quite a while. My best friend is a broker here in Idaho and has been after me to get licensed and become one of her sales agents. Getting my Idaho real estate license is a bit intimidating for me. I have not been in a classroom for many years. What if I can't pass the state test? However, being able to earn commission would be really nice and based on all of the information I have read, the market here is a strong one.

Idaho has a terrific market for vacation properties as well as full time residential homes. That makes getting my Idaho real estate license even more attractive. I would love to be able to get a job as a sales agent in anew community, where the potential buyers basically walk thru the door on their own. Spending my days working at the model home sounds like a great way to spend my time. I would like to start out by getting my Idaho real estate license and going to work for my friend's brokerage and try to learn all I can. I believe that with a few years as an active sales agent that I would be eligible to go back to school and take the test to become a broker myself.

The real estate class itself seems to be mostly common sense mixed with learning the applicable laws that apply to real estate. I saw a section that the class covers about being able to figure out interest on a mortgage or I believe it was called the "amortization schedule" for a loan and I must admit that scares me. Math is not a strong suit of mine... However, getting my Idaho real estate license would mean the start of a whole new career for me and that is really exciting. I would love to meet other agents and develop some new friendships along the way.

I have been gathering all of the information I can on going to school to get my Idaho real estate license. My friend who is the broker even said that her brokerage would pay for my classes as long as I agreed to come to work for her after I pass the state exam. This Idaho real estate license seems to be calling my name and telling me to just go for it. Most of the agents I have seen are about my age and have gone and gotten their Idaho real estate license(s) after working in other careers or being home with kids. I think that getting my Idaho real estate license will just bring me more confidence and start me on a new career.
